Privacy Policy
ASCII Video Converter is designed around local processing. Videos, images, and live camera frames used by the converter are handled in your browser for the core rendering workflow. We do not operate a user account system and the standard conversion flow does not upload your source files to our servers.
This policy explains what the site processes, what it does not routinely store, how advertising technologies may be used, and how visitors can contact the project if they have questions about privacy or data handling. It is written to describe the current production site and will be updated if new analytics, accounts, or server-side processing features are added.
What data is processed
- Videos and images you choose in the converter are read by your browser to generate ASCII previews and exports.
- When you enable live feed mode, webcam frames are processed in-memory in your browser.
- Downloads generated by the tool are created locally on your device.
- Basic request logs may exist at the hosting or infrastructure level for security, availability, and abuse prevention.
What we do not store in the core workflow
- No mandatory account registration.
- No routine server-side storage of your uploaded source media.
- No cloud archive of your webcam stream content by default.
- No user dashboard or historical library of your generated conversions on the site.
Cookies, ads, and third-party technologies
This site may use Google AdSense, a service provided by Google LLC, to show advertising. Google may use cookies and similar technologies, including DoubleClick cookies, to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this site or other websites.
Users can learn more about how Google uses information in advertising at Google Advertising Policies and can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ad Settings .
If consent requirements apply in a visitor's jurisdiction, the project may adjust how advertising features are enabled in order to meet those requirements. This page should be treated as the public reference for any such changes until a separate consent notice is introduced.
Permissions
- Camera access is requested only when you actively start live feed mode.
- You can revoke camera permission through your browser or device settings at any time.
- If permission is denied, webcam features remain unavailable until you allow them.
Policy updates and requests
If the site adds new product features, analytics, or hosted workflows, this policy will be revised to reflect what changed and why. Visitors who have questions about privacy, advertising, or data handling can request clarification by email. Reasonable questions are answered on a best-effort basis, and requests that identify a specific page or workflow are easier to review quickly.
